Here are this week’s top tips on all things sport and racing

The big day has finally arrived! It is AFL Grand Final Day for 2019 and we see Richmond taking on GWS in the Premiership clash at the MCG.

Richmond head in as the $1.42 favourites and their last month of football has been impeccable.

Victories over West Coast by 6 points, Brisbane by 27 points and 47 points and in the Preliminary Final over Geelong by 19 points shows they are in tip top form and peaking at the right time.

GWS are a $3 chance and they have a healthy form line of their own with 4 straight victories over Gold Coast by 72 points, the Western Bulldogs by 58 points, Brisbane by 3 points and Collingwood by 4 points in the Preliminary Final.

The only real side you can line up between the two over the last month is Brisbane- Richmond won comfortably by 27 and 47 while the Giants won by 3 points.

This cannot be used as the only bit of form but on that you give Richmond the edge by a few goals.

Throw on top of that the fact that GWS have had to travel consecutive weeks and it does to my eye give Richmond the advantage heading in.

Richmond won the Premiership in 2017 and many of their list know what it takes to get the job done on Grand Final day while GWS are entering unchartered territory.

I am tipping Richmond by 23 points and I have had four bets on the match.

I am very confident about the prospects of Dustin Martin taking out the Norm Smith Medal at $6.50.

I rate him as the best big game player in the competition and his last 6 weeks of football have been sensational – he polled particularly well in Brownlow Meal in the last few rounds of the season and against Brisbane in the finals his 6 goal game three weeks ago was sublime.

Last week in the Preliminary Final he suffered an injury just minutes into the game which hampered his impact but I expect him to come out firing in the GF.

If De Boer goes to him to try and tag him I can see him heading down to full forward and kicking a bag, if De Boer doesn’t he will run rampant all over the ground – either scenario I am happy to be on him.

In First Goal Scorer betting plays the two obvious are Tom Lynch at $8 and Jeremy Cameron at $9 while I have had a little speck on Josh Caddy at $31.

Wherever you find yourself for Grand Final Day enjoy the game and good luck with your bets.

I’ll take a multi with South Sydney to either win or get within 6 points of Canberra at the plus line into Sydney to defeat Melbourne. The multi price is $2.98.

As suggested here last week WA were always going to be hard to beat in any match they contest in the Marsh Domestic ODI series and they have dominated both of their matches this season.

Markets are not yet up for their matches next week in NSW but I will be continuing to back them with confidence.

They have an incredibly strong squad and I can’t see them dropping too many games over the next month.

Stick with them and you will end up well in front.

My best bets of the weekend are as follows :

Moonee Valley Friday Race 3 Number 3 Miss Siska (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $3.10) : Returned from a break in fine style when finishing runner-up behind Spanish Whisper in the Let’s Elope at Flemington. A winner at 6 of her 19 career starts and given she looks to be back in top order a race of this nature is well within her reach. Hard to beat.

Rosehill Saturday Race 5 Number 5 Enticing Star (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $2.50) : Star sandgroper who has had 10 starts for 8 wins and a second including a runner-up performance in the Group 1 Winterbottom Stakes. Her two trials in the buildup to this have been ideal and she has had 3 starts first up in the past and won all of them. She is a very exciting mare.

Caulfield Sunday Race 5 Number 3 Dalasan (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $2.45) : Quality three year old who resumed from a break when defeating Scales Of Justice in the Spring Stakes at Morphettville and second up proved too classy when taking out the Danehill Stakes over 1200 metres at Flemington. Has had 5 starts for 4 wins and a second and will be fitter for two runs back from a break. The one they all have to beat.

Caulfield Sunday Race 8 Number 15 Special Reward (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $4.80) : Simon Miller trained galloper who was simply dynamite last preparation winning all four starts at Ascot in grand style. Has been aimed up at a Melbourne campaign this Spring and all reports from the stable are that this fellow is ready to go. Has won 2 of his 3 first up appearances in the past and this looks a suitable assignment. More than happy to be on him each way.
Cannington Satuday Race 5 Number 7 Hastie Guess (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price Not Available) : In form sprinter who has won 4 of his last 5 starts. Should be able to zip over and lead throughout again. I’ll also be backing 7-1 Boom Down and 8-1 Conway Gundi.
